I’ve seen countless images of Goosenecks State Park, and I finally had to stop and see it for myself—spoiler alert: it’s worth it, and the camera isn’t going to do it justice. In this video I roll into Goosenecks State Park in southeast Utah (about 10 minutes from Mexican Hat, ~40 minutes from Monument Valley, and close to both entrances for Valley of the Gods Road) and give you a quick overview of how the park is laid out. I cover the basics at the kiosk—$5 day use, $10 overnight—and what you get (and don’t get) once you’re inside. Then I drive through the camping area and tour the sites so you can see what your options really look like. Some spots are clustered near the bathrooms with killer views, but it also has that more “campground feel” than I expected. I keep heading farther out to find more privacy, weigh the tradeoff between views and solitude, and call out a big one: there’s no water here, so BYOW. I end the day with a calm, wind-died-down fireside wrap-up—exactly the kind of Friday night reset I chase on the road.
