I don't consider Monument Valley to be overlanding, but there was no way I was going to skip this place simply because it was a tourist destination. It was amazing and I am glad I rejoined civilization to check it out. About This Video

The area around here is absolutely packed with stuff to see, and even after shooting four videos in this little pocket, I still didn’t catch everything. In this one I headed to Monument Valley—yeah, I don’t really consider it “overlanding,” but there was no way I was skipping it just because it’s a tourist destination. The scale is just impossible to imagine until you’re staring at it in person. It starts as a line on the horizon and just keeps getting bigger and bigger, and of course I rolled past the famous Forrest Gump spot (no, I didn’t stop in the road for a selfie—time wasn’t my friend). I made it to the entry before they closed things down, hit the visitor center area (bathrooms, food, souvenir shop), and then started the loop. It’s a bumpy, dusty ride with plenty of traffic—honestly, I should’ve aired down and disconnected my front sway bar. I cheated a little with Gaia for names (you ain’t cheating, you ain’t trying), stopped at John Ford’s Point for that classic view, and checked out some local stands—grabbed my daughter a dream catcher because I’m here to collect memories anyway. In the end, it was worth the $8 entry fee, an easy day, and something I think anyone in the area should do at least once—then it was on to the next challenge: figuring out where to sleep for the night.
