About This Video

Storage is always an issue on long trips, and I had a couple people ask how I’m storing stuff when I’m out for two or three months at a time. So in this video I do a quick walk-around of my Jeep and show my plain old, not-fancy, affordable storage system—because if I’m being honest, when I’m out that long I bring a lot of crap. The goal is simple: everything has a place, the stuff I need daily is quick to grab, and the “survival crap and Gucci gear” stays packed until I actually need it. I start inside the cab with the small organization that keeps remote-work life moving: MOLLE panels and door storage for the little things, console storage for filming gear, and under-seat storage for tools and recovery odds and ends. I also show a couple space-saving hacks—like packing detergent sheets and dryer sheets into Ziplocs so I can wash clothes for months without wasting space. From there I get into the bigger system: Pelican cases for specific gear (like my awning and air-up stuff), a main storage box that holds about 90% of my camp gear (plus a DIY lid prop that’s been a game changer), and dedicated quick-access spots for coffee/snacks so I’m not digging through the whole kitchen setup first thing in the morning. I wrap it up with water storage, trash-bag tricks for staying stealthy at gas stations, and roof/upper storage for emergency gear and supplies I don’t need every day.
