Bald Mountain Jeep Trail / Big Levels, Virginia

Bald Mountain Jeep Trail (also called Big Levels) holds a special place in my heart. I really like this trail and camp here multiple times per year. I am starting this from the Blue ridge Parkway side. Key change I saw this year was the addition of a bypass around the largest mud hole. I really like that now you have an option to dodge it if you would like to. In my opinion this makes it much more accessible to stock vehicles. I still recommend 4x4/AWD and 4 low gearing will also help on the climbs. Taking it from the Blue Ridge Parkways side will be easier since it is mostly downhill. If you don't have 4 low I would recommend taking it this way. Camping along this trail is also amazing.
