In this video, I share my thoughts on the new Insta360 Ace Pro 2 action camera. Most notably, I'm really impressed with the audio performance, the video quality, low light performance, and the ability to get narrow, DSLR-like angles for shooting more cinematic footage. Overall, it's a really great camera for anyone who wants to film their hikes! ▼ TABLE OF CONTENTS 00:00 - Intro 00:34 - Example Footage 01:22 - Build Quality 02:13 - Resolution 03:40 - Active HDR 04:11 - Color Profiles 05:11 - Low Light 05:41 - FOV 06:27 - Image Stabilization 07:30 - Types of Shots 08:18 - Microphone 09:07 - Accessories 10:14 - Battery 10:41 - Phone Editing 11:19 - Ace Pro 2 vs X4 12:34 - Final Words ▼ FOLLOW ME ON SOCIAL MEDIA https://www.instagram.com/oscarbrumelis/ https://www.tiktok.com/@oscarhikes ▼ AFFILIATE DISCLOSURE In some of our videos, we sometimes use affiliate links. About This Video

Today Insta360 dropped the Ace Pro 2, and I’ve been testing it for the past few weeks specifically for hiking and filming outdoors. Everything you see in the video is shot on the Ace Pro 2 (unless you can literally see the camera in the shot). I run through real trail-use stuff: build quality, the flip screen (huge if you film yourself), resolutions up to 8K/30 and 4K/120, Active HDR, and the new neutral, professional-looking color profile that gives you more data in highlights/shadows for better grading later. The big “hiker takeaways” are pretty clear: the audio is way better in wind than I expected (with a removable wind guard plus wind reduction/voice enhancement settings), low light performance is genuinely strong in PureVideo/PureVideo+ modes, and the 8K sensor enables that double-tap “zoom” crop for narrower, more DSLR-like angles that look more cinematic—especially in the mountains. I also talk stabilization (great in 4K, more limited in 8K), useful modes like FreeFrame for vertical + horizontal exports, and phone editing in the Insta360 app with a built-in LUT button. Battery-wise, I got about 2 hours 6 minutes at 4K/30 with endurance mode (my recommended hiking settings), and about 51 minutes at 8K/30 before overheating shutoff. I also compare it to the Insta360 X4: the Ace Pro 2 wins on image quality, low light, HDR-ish scenes, and mic audio, while the X4 still wins on creative 360 freedom.
