About This Video

Hey babes—I'm back! In this video I’m doing a full blonde color correction on natural textured hair and giving y’all a real life update on where I’ve been. My client came in with previously colored hair and we were working with three different tones: her natural root, grown-out mids, and super blonde ends. She wanted that honey blonde/brown vibe, so I’m showing you how I look at the different levels first, then go in strategically so we can get a clean, even canvas before we deposit color. I walk you through my process: I start with the darkest area first (the root retouch/dark band) because it takes the longest, but I don’t slap lightener straight on the roots right away. Roots process fast, so I save them for the very end—work smarter, not harder—so I’m not forced to rinse too soon. Then I move through the mids and ends to lift out old color and reduce banding so the final tone doesn’t look splotchy. And yes, we kept it real—no silk press. She didn’t want extra heat because she’s been coloring, and I never pressure anybody. We did a blow-dry, trim, and focused on keeping her curls healthy while still getting those warm golden tones.
