I take you through how I treat and prep my natural hair, then I get my leave-out together first because baby, if the leave-out not right, the whole install not gonna give what it needs to give. And you already know me—I only like a jet black bust down. Jet black is the best way to go for that nice, healthy, meaty-looking install. I also talk about coloring the part area and hairline with only about an ounce of permanent jet black, and I’m warning you right now—once that jet black hits your skin, it’s like permanent. Don’t make plans the first day you do jet black because you will have stains, period. Then I get into the hair: I show what a raw bundle looks like unraveled and why raw hair eats down effortlessly. The tracks aren’t thick, but the hair is full from root to end, so you don’t have to do too much. I even show the blend after I only straightened my leave-out—nothing extra—and it’s giving seamless.
