The mixed media basics video series came about because I found I was getting a lot of questions on how I learned how to use some of the mixed media supplies. I thought a series needed to be created covering all the basic mediums and supplies that are mostly used by mixed media artists. Some of those I have covered are Gesso, Glazing Medium, and Crackle Paste. In this series I will also review products and do a performance comparison as well as price comparison. I will also review some tips n’ tricks of using the product or possibly some exploration of using the products. You can find those videos on the Mixed Media Basics playlist here: https://youtube.com/playlist?list=PLkiTuLehtBIQbKM5BFgcJAuXVVM7LLqga Mixed media basics videos are released on odd months, January, March, May, July, September and November. About This Video

This Mixed Media Basics video came out of all the questions I’ve been getting about how I learned to use my mixed media supplies—and what I reach for most often when I’m building layers in an art journal page, a Rolodex card, or a gel print session. In this episode I’m sharing my personal “top 5 mediums” list—the workhorse products that help me prep a surface, glue and seal layers, add texture, and keep everything playing nicely together as I keep building. I also talk about why I created the Mixed Media Basics series in the first place: I want you to feel confident picking up a medium and actually using it, not just collecting it. In this series I review products, do performance comparisons, and even price comparisons when it makes sense—plus I share tips n’ tricks and little explorations so you can see what each medium does in real life. If you want a specific medium covered next, leave me a comment or email me, because I’m always happy to build this playlist around what you’re actually using at your table.
