About This Video

In this video (Part 1 of my Gel Print Texture Book series), I’m starting the slow, layered process of building a texture book using gel printed papers. This is all about play—pulling prints, paying attention to the marks and textures that show up, and setting myself up with a stash of pages I can come back to for art journaling later. If you love mixed media but get stuck on “what do I do with all these prints?”, a texture book is one of my favorite ways to keep everything in one place and make it usable. I also share a bit of how I approach my creative time: no rushing, no pressure to make a “perfect” page, and letting the layers lead. The goal is to create a book full of interesting surfaces—something I can flip through when I want inspiration, collage material, or a jumping-off point for future journaling sessions. If you have questions as you watch, leave them in the comments—I’m always happy to help you troubleshoot or talk through ideas at the art table.
