Years ago, I started taping things I thought would make good art journal layouts into a scrapbook I labeled ‘Inspiration’, but really, they were curated art journal bits. This method really didn’t work for me, but I couldn’t let them go to waste. I decided to art journal with them in a new oversized magazine journal. Thank you so much for watching! I truly appreciate the time you take to spend with my content. If you have any questions, please feel free to leave them in the comments—I’d be happy to answer them. About This Video

Years ago I started taping all kinds of “this would make a great page” bits into a scrapbook I labeled Inspiration. If I’m being honest, it really wasn’t inspiration for me—it was curated art journal pieces waiting for a home. In this video I finally pull that idea back onto my art table and show you how I’m using those saved bits the way I actually need to use them: inside an oversized magazine journal where I can play, layer, and let the page evolve without overthinking it. I work through the process of building a background with gesso and matte mediums, then bringing in my curated elements with adhesive so they feel integrated instead of just “stuck on.” I add color and movement with sprays and inks, and I use a little distressing and stamping to unify everything—because that’s the magic with curated pages: cohesion. The takeaway is simple: if a system isn’t working, you don’t have to abandon the materials—you can change the container and change the rules. This page, “Greatest Blessing,” is a reminder that slow, layered making counts, and those saved scraps can become something you truly love.
