In this Fearless rolARTdex episode, I’m back in my Real Time series—slow, layered, and very much about letting the process lead. I’m continuing what I started with my 2024 Mixed Media Deck Build, but in 2025 I’m working on rolodex cards every other week, and this card is a little reminder to show up anyway: fearless doesn’t mean you’re never nervous, it means you keep making. I build the surface with my go-to mediums and adhesives so everything stays put while I add color and texture. I’m using rice paper for that easy, beautiful layer (it gives you instant interest without getting bulky), and I bring in spray stain for moody, earthy color. This is the kind of project where you can play with what you have, keep it simple, and still end up with a finished card that feels rich and intentional.
