I have fine, chemical-free hair. Chemical free means no relaxer...no color...no nothing. :) I mainly wear my fine, natural hair in TWIST OUT styles. For me, twist outs are a protective style that have allowed me to retain length while enjoying wearing my hair 'out.' I also love for my fine natural hair to have lots of bounce, curls and volume! 🔎Hashtags: #naturalhair #healthyhair #over50 #naturallycorporate ***Thank you for watching this video, click the "SUBSCRIBE" button to stay connected with this channel. About This Video

In this video, I’m testing the Mixed Chicks Cream Styler on my fine, chemical-free natural hair and taking you through my two-strand twist out from start to finish. I picked it up at CVS after side-eyeing it for a while (and yes…that CVS sticker on the jar would not let me be great). Even though I’m not mixed, the jar says it’s for kinks, coils, and curly hair, so I decided to give it a fair shot—especially because I’ve been looking for stylers that bring softness and moisture for the cool/cold weather season. I start on freshly washed and conditioned, damp hair, pre-parted the way I wanted my twists to fall, and I use the cream as a one-and-done styler. The cream is thick, and as someone with fine strands, I was really hoping it wouldn’t weigh my hair down or make it limp. It doesn’t have a lot of slip (even with extra water), so keep that in mind during application. After twisting, I sat under my hooded dryer for about 45 minutes—fast drying in a good way—and the takedown was smooth: flexible hold, no crunch, no flakes, and my hair dried elongated without shrinking back up. A few days in, my hair still had shine and that flexible hold, with a few frizzy sections that I honestly think came from my application and my different textures. Overall, I recommend it if you want moisture and a twist out-friendly styler for fall and winter, and I’m planning to revisit it next time paired with the Mixed Chicks leave-in.
