In this video I’m doing a full review of the North Edge X1 (HX1) digital watch from AliExpress, and the main reason you should care is the price. I bought mine during a sale for around USD10, but realistically it floats around USD11–12 depending on AliExpress pricing, so don’t be mad if you can’t hit that exact 10-buck mark. I also share my usual tip: use coupons and your daily AliExpress coins because the price really does fluctuate. I go through the real-world specs and usability: 42.7mm wide, 13.1mm thick, 47.1mm lug-to-lug, and a very welcome 20mm lug width. That 20mm is a unique selling point for a cheap digital because strap swapping is actually easy (unlike some squares like my G-Shock GW-M5610 with a narrower lug setup). The strap it comes with is soft and supple, the watch is super light on wrist, and I’ve even used it for jogging. Feature-wise it’s simple and practical: time, alarm, stopwatch, dual time, and timer, with 5 bar (50m) water resistance—which is plenty for my use. Illumination is decent for the money, but it only stays on for a few seconds, and there’s no proper auto-light like on the Casio. My takeaway: for USD10–12, it’s a legit bargain, and the negative display is surprisingly good compared to my GW-M5610.
