About This Video

In this video I finally did a full review of the Lorus RJ655AX-9, and honestly… I didn’t think it was going to be that good. But it really is. Lorus is a sub-brand under Seiko, and I had to buy this one from the UK because I couldn’t find it on Malaysia’s online platforms. I paid about 35 GBP (roughly under 50 USD at the time), and once I put it side-by-side with the typical AliExpress quartz “military” watches I review, it made me rethink the whole “Japanese watches are overpriced” thing. I covered the sizing (36.7mm diameter, 8.5mm thick, 43.1mm lug-to-lug, 18mm lug width), the simple military-style dial layout, and the Seiko quartz movement inside. The big highlight is the full lume dial with Seiko Lumibrite—this thing is basically nuclear in the dark. I also talked about the strap situation (pierced lugs help, but the stock spring bars were a bit annoying) and I swapped a few straps to show how versatile the watch looks. Bottom line: for the money, it’s a no-brainer, and I’d pick this Lorus over a lot of sub-50 AliExpress options—especially if you care about lume and overall “daily wear” comfort.
