In this video I’m back with the full review of the Phorcydes PH-2, a really interesting AliExpress brand revival piece that’s basically an homage to “something JLC-ish” (some people say JLC, some say another brand—honestly I’m not 100% sure, so tell me in the comments if you know). The big story here is price: when I bought mine it was around USD170 and at that money, it was a steal. But at the time of recording (15 Oct 2025), it was showing around USD299 on AliExpress, which is… yeah, I don’t know guys. The weird part is you can sometimes get it cheaper on the Phorcydes website, so do shop around before you pull the trigger. I measure the watch (40mm, 13.2mm thick, 48.4mm lug-to-lug, 20mm lug width) and talk about the NH35 movement—meaning you do get the ghost date position (annoying, but I’m used to it). The highlight for me is the lume: those 3D block lume indices and hands are super bright, and the lume bezel insert looks great too. You also get a fully brushed, unique “cylinder” case, a properly aligned 120-click bezel, and solid strap options—this thing can be a strap monster. Bottom line: under USD200 it’s a bargain; at USD299, I’d be a lot more picky unless you can score a good deal (especially with the bracelet).
