In this Dolly Dreams box opening, I’m diving into a package that showed up from American Girl earlier than expected—and I was so excited because this one was a pre-order and kind of a hot topic. I walk you through the unboxing process (yes, AG and their packing peanuts), and I talk about how I actually don’t mind them because they’re biodegradable and dissolve in water. I also point out how pretty the presentation is, even though the peanuts can leave a little film on the box. Inside is my Modern Era Molly (the collector’s/limited edition style release—honestly I don’t even know what they’re calling her). This was my Valentine’s Day/Easter gift from my mom, and I share some of my thoughts as an adult collector who already owns several Pleasant Company originals. I’m hoping American Girl does more for the 40th anniversary, but I’m also real about it: unless they’re doing accessories, I don’t necessarily need re-release dolls because I already have the original six in my house. I give my first impressions—she’s prettier in person—but I’m still not a huge fan of the “Sally Jesse Raphael” glasses. I’m keeping the box, and I also chat about what my kids are hoping to get next (Samantha and Josefina), plus my plan to fully free Molly from the box in next week’s video.
