A cozy, rainy 24-hour layover in Nashville. 🌧️ Nothing went as planned (as usual), but I made the most of it anyway. Exploring downtown, trying out a new hotel, relaxing in a cigar bar and ending the night with dinner at Husk all while it poured outside. It honestly feels like the rain’s been following me everywhere lately, but I kind of love it. About This Video

You guys, this was one of those layovers where nothing goes to plan… and somehow it ends up being exactly what I needed. I’m in Nashville for a cozy, rainy 24 hours and it’s dreary as hell outside, but my hotel is cute (big window, cozy decor, decent bathroom), so I leaned into the vibe. I was in a cranky, PMS-y mood at first—forgot a brush, needed a drink, the usual—but I freshened up, threw on my black cat earrings because Halloween week is sacred, and decided to switch my attitude. Ellen and I attempted to be productive and museum-y, but we pivoted hard. We wandered downtown, ended up in a cozy cigar bar for three and a half hours, and basically trauma-dumped and shared life stories over Negronis and little cigarillos (no regrets, save it). Then we closed out the night at Husk—because you know I love Husk—where the food was divine: shrimp and grits, pimento cheese with pie crust “crackers,” and those unreal biscuits. The next morning was all about recovery and routine: Blue Stone Lane, writing plans for my Substack, and gearing up for a long workday with three full flights. Rainy layovers aren’t always glamorous, but this one felt romantic in the real-life way—cozy, imperfect, and exactly on time.
