Welcome to my first solo trip to Vietnam!! In this vlog I’m exploring Hanoi’s Old Quarter, riding on the back of motorbikes through Hanoi traffic, getting a Vietnamese head spa, lifting and tinting my lashes, getting my nails done, and going on a private locals-only food tour to try some of the best street food in the city. I’m sharing what it’s really like traveling solo in Vietnam the highs and lows and what makes it still worth it no matter what. About This Video

I finally made it to Vietnam solo, and this vlog is basically my first-time-in-Hanoi whiplash—in the best way and the most chaotic way. I arrive at 11 p.m. after a 24-hour travel day, figure out my Airbnb in a tiny Old Quarter alley, and wake up at 6:30 a.m like, “Good morning, Vietnam,” while the whole street is already eating. It’s humid, I’m a little underprepared (hello, no raincoat), but I’m on a mission for Vietnamese coffee, egg coffee, and just soaking up that early-morning Hanoi energy. From there, I lean all the way into self-care: a Vietnamese hot stone massage + head spa at La Spa (genuinely the best massage I’ve ever had), plus a lash lift and tint that cost me about $15—which is wild compared to home. The highlight of the trip, though, is my locals-only food tour with Dave (Happy Food Tour). I try flavors I never would’ve ordered on my own, learn the “why” behind what I’m eating, and realize my favorite part might actually be riding on the back of the moped through pure Hanoi chaos. I also share the real solo travel stuff: rainy days that mess up your plans, getting hangry and jet-laggy midday, and that weird loneliness when everyone back home is asleep. But even with the highs and lows, Hanoi still feels so worth it—especially in the mornings, when it’s quiet, local, and kind of magical.
