Welcome to my solo travel vlog in Hanoi, Vietnam! In this video I explore the chaotic and beautiful streets of Hanoi’s Old Quarter, visit the historic Temple of Literature, and spend the day experiencing everyday life in Vietnam’s capital. I ride through the city on the back of a Grab motorbike, try traditional Vietnamese coffee, and eat bun cha at a Michelin-recognized restaurant. I also visit the Vietnam Women’s Museum and talk honestly about the realities of solo travel, from jet lag and exhaustion to learning how to cross Hanoi’s famously chaotic streets. This is a real look at solo female travel in Vietnam, sharing both the overwhelming moments and the magic of exploring Hanoi and Southeast Asia for the first time. About This Video

It’s 6:15 a.m. in Hanoi and the streets are already loud, chaotic, and fully awake—so of course my first mission is coffee. In this vlog I take you with me through the Old Quarter from a solo traveler’s perspective: figuring out what’s actually open (Google Maps was truly not my friend), learning how to cross Hanoi’s famously intense streets (you really do have to just send it), and squeezing in as much as I can before I leave the next day. I ride on the back of a Grab motorbike, wander through pockets of the city that aren’t touristy at all, and chase that “see everything” feeling… even when jet lag is fighting me the whole way. I visit the Temple of Literature (so old it’s almost hard to process) and spend time at the Vietnam Women’s Museum, which genuinely became one of my biggest recommendations in Hanoi. Hearing the individual stories of women—especially street vendors and young girls involved in wartime resistance—gave me a deeper respect for Vietnamese women’s resilience and warmth. And I’m also honest about the other side of solo travel: exhaustion, overstimulation, feeling lonely midday when everyone back home is asleep, and the way travel can be magical and hard in the same breath. I end the vlog packing up, craving the countryside, and reminding myself (thanks, Bourdain) that travel isn’t always pretty—and that’s kind of the point.
