I almost forgot I was even vlogging this layover (classic), but this video is basically my little winter reset as a flight attendant—escaping the gray, freezing Boston energy for sunshine in Tampa and San Diego during the first weeks of January. Tampa was low 70s, no clouds, and I immediately went into “walk as much as humanly possible” mode with a Buddy Brew coffee in hand (after spilling it all over my first shirt). Florida layovers in the winter genuinely heal me—my whole nervous system feels regulated, like tension I didn’t even know I was carrying just releases. Then I picked up a last-minute San Diego trip and did it the way I love: coffee, long walks, and soaking up how beautiful it is outside. I had the best time with friends at Rancho Guajito Vineyard (hayride, live band, wholesome vibes), then Little Italy for oysters and cocktails, and the next day I grabbed Mendocino Farms lemon chicken orzo soup and a coconut water before heading back. Back in Boston, I leaned hard into routines—Whole Foods haul, making my own Greek lemon chicken orzo soup, and focusing on “skin-supportive” foods while traveling. I’ve been making it fun by aiming for my top 10 glowing-skin foods (salmon, avocado, olive oil, blueberries, eggs, cucumbers, sweet potato, bone broth, pumpkin seeds, green tea) and keeping things cozy, simple, and actually doable on flight attendant life.
