After my last San Francisco layover, my life took a turn I didn’t see coming. What started as a normal trip ended with an emergency hospital stay and four weeks of unexpected medical leave. In this video, I’m opening up about what really happened, how I spent my time off, and what this month taught me about slowing down, healing, and finding clarity again. You’ll see a bit of San Francisco, some behind-the-scenes recovery moments, and how my friends came through for me in the best way possible. If you’ve ever been forced to pause when life pushes you to keep going — this one’s for you. About This Video

Right now you’re looking at a girl who thought she was just heading out for a normal two-day San Francisco trip—like, the start of a whole month of fun West Coast layovers. And then… 48 hours later I was in the ER, getting diagnosed with appendicitis, taken by ambulance to Mass General, and prepped for emergency surgery at 1:45 a.m. It was my first surgery ever, my first time being put under, and the whole thing felt surreal—especially doing it alone in the hospital (even though the staff was genuinely incredible). After that, I was out of work for four weeks on medical leave, because flight attendant life is not “light duty” in any way. I’m talking 100+ lb carts, heavy doors, long duty days—so I needed to be fully healed before I could safely go back. In the middle of recovery, I leaned hard into hydration, electrolytes, protein, collagen, zinc, probiotics, and just taking it slow (because I learned the hard way that eating too much too soon = pain). But the real life update is what happened mentally: I didn’t realize how badly I needed to stop. I cleaned and organized my apartment, donated three huge trash bags of clothes, journaled three pages every morning, and got so much clarity about what I want next—because I’m ready for a drastic change. This video is the messy, honest pause I didn’t plan for, and the reset I didn’t know I needed.
