After lots of thinking (and magazine inspo!) I’ve decided that the loft conversion is going to become the main bedroom – complete with the loft en-suite. I talk you through the vision, the layout ideas, and how I used inspiration from interiors magazines to finally make the decision. This move has freed up the old bedroom! It will still need to keep the wardrobes for now… but stay tuned because I’ve got plans for that space too. About This Video

In this instalment of my Sorting My Home Out series, I’m tackling the loft room now the sofa’s gone downstairs and it’s finally a blank canvas. I’ve only got a couple of hours to crack on (because let’s be real, that’s usually how long we get), but I wanted to make a proper decision about how this space should actually work day-to-day. I talk you through the list I made for the loft — not used daily, lacking storage, the en-suite window needing privacy, and my constant worry about Pumpkin and Mittens near the balcony windows. After lots of thinking (and a good scroll through Readly for interiors magazine inspo), I’ve decided the loft conversion is becoming the main bedroom, complete with the loft en-suite. The big job today is getting my super king bed up there and built, before I commit to decorating — because I don’t want to paint the whole place and then realise I don’t even enjoy sleeping up there. Once the bed’s in, I start playing with layout options, talk through the tight corners and headroom realities, and share why I designed the window positions with “future bedroom” in mind. It’s not finished (far from it), but I’m already excited for rainy, cosy nights up here with that view and the TV-from-bed situation. Next up, I’ll be focusing on the old bedroom space and figuring out storage solutions, because up here I’ll need drawers rather than full wardrobes.
