In this vlog, join me for a quiet and peaceful weekend in the English countryside, from slow mornings spent writing, to wandering through charming villages, browsing antique shops, going thrifting, and visiting a traditional car boot sale in search of hidden treasures. It was the perfect creative reset and a chance to find inspiration with a change of scenery. I hope this feels like a little retreat of your own, and I hope you enjoy :) Subscribe for more vlogs, creative inspiration, cosy interiors, antiques, and escapes. #WritingVlog #SlowLiving #CountrysideVlog #CosyVlog #EnglishCountryside #Thrifting #AntiqueShopping #CarBootSale #Cottagecore

About This Video

I escaped to the countryside for a few days and honestly, it was exactly what I needed. I’m back at the cottage to slow down, get some proper writing done, and have a bit of a creative reset—blue skies, birds singing, coffee in the garden… the whole thing felt like a little retreat. I took myself off to my favourite spot (a lovely restaurant/coffee shop called Home) to sit with a flat white and bash out some chapters, then rewarded myself with a good old mooch around charity shops, antiques, and pretty villages. Over the weekend I browsed places like Langport’s Vintage Emporium, wandered by the river with a bakery roll in hand (ham, cheese and pickle—so good), and even picked up some local Somerset cider at the market for a sunny evening back at the cottage. Saturday was more charity shops and antiques (plus coffee and walnut cake), and then Sunday… a massive countryside car boot sale that was so big it deserves its own video. I finished it all off with a proper pub roast (roast lamb with all the trimmings) and a little haul—thrifty Easter bits, a couple of shirts, and some bargain candles—because you know I can’t resist a good find.
