About This Video

Good morning everybody—if you’re like me, camping is better with a legit cup of coffee in your hand. In this video I break down my favorite ways to make coffee at the campsite, in a few different “tiers,” depending on how much time I’ve got and how fancy I feel like getting. I’ve been roasting my own beans since 2018, so I’m definitely picky, but I also care a lot about what’s practical when you’re actually out there. The method I use about 95% of the time is pour over. It’s simple, makes a great cup, and the cleanup is the big win—when you’re done, you toss the filter and you’re out. I also cover French press (still great coffee, just messier cleanup with the grounds), plus a quick runner-up mention for the moka pot. Then I jump into my “in a rush/backpacking” option: instant coffee packets or coffee “tea bags,” which obviously won’t beat fresh coffee, but they’re fast and easy. And lastly, I show the most exciting and most bougie option: the Bellman CX25P, which lets me make an espresso latte at camp—complete with steamed milk and even some latte art practice (with a bit of a learning curve).
