I built a desk robot that can serve drinks while I work. This project uses the Elegoo Smart Car Kit as well as my own 3D printed cup holder and custom code. The goal was simple. I wanted to protect my electronics while I engineer, so it rolls up, hands me a drink, and keeps my electronics safe from spills. If you like robotics, engineering, or fun tech builds, this is the perfect project to watch and try for yourself. *************************************** Get your own Elegoo Smart Car here: US: https://bit.ly/3MzXMbv CA: https://amzn.to/3YjUiwq IT: https://bit.ly/4pXNnoz DE: https://bit.ly/3KSD7z1 Thanks to Elegoo for sponsoring this video! *************************************** Follow me on ARK:STEM App Store Link: https://apps.apple.com/ca/app/ark-stem/id6737204004 Google Play: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.immaculatatechnologies.arkmobile Web: https://ark-app.tech Join My Discord Lab Chat with other makers, share your builds, and get updates from MateoTechLab: https://discord.gg/AzzMkVH5Rm *************************************** Video made and edited by Mateo Jarquin Want to reach out to me? About This Video

I built a little desk robot that serves me drinks so I don’t have to keep reaching over my electronics (and risking a spill) while I’m engineering. The whole idea was simple: I like having a drink at my desk, but water and electronics don’t mix—especially because “pure” water turns conductive once it dissolves impurities. So I wanted a robot that could roll up, hand me the drink, and keep my workspace safer. For the base, I used the Elegoo Smart Car kit because I wanted something that’s smart, programmable, and loaded with sensors—whether you’re a beginner or more experienced, it’s a really solid platform. Assembly honestly felt like building a LEGO-style robot model because the parts are all in the kit. Then I added my own 3D printed cup holder, because that’s my favorite part of engineering: taking an idea and making it real with a personal touch. On the software side, I used Elegoo’s programming app (instead of my usual Python flow) and focused on line tracking so the robot can recognize when it reaches my desk, plus the built-in sensors help it avoid driving off edges. After a couple funny moments (yes, I forgot about the side switch), I got a full working demo of my new desktop assistant.
