About This Video

In this video I’m basically doing my 2026 recap—but through the lens of building. I started when I was 15 with a $300 3D printer and one goal: make something “Iron Man” level with what I had. That first glove taught me the real lesson: heroes aren’t defined by what they’re given, but by what they build from whatever’s on the table. I learned to solder with my grandpa, figured out sizing for prints, and then asked the question that launched everything: what if I could control the glove without wearing it? So I didn’t wait for a class—I taught myself coding, hand tracking, and circuits with Arduino by tearing apart open-source code and rebuilding it until it worked. That project unexpectedly took me into science fairs I didn’t even know existed, all the way to medals, public speaking, and eventually representing Canada internationally. I also built my own AI assistant “JARVIS” (and yes, I used it to hijack my school’s speaker system at graduation). After a reflection year, I rebuilt my robotic hand idea into FLEX—rewrote the code for smooth finger motion, improved the mechanics with a double-string system, and made it usable without being stuck in front of a MacBook camera. The biggest takeaway is still my biggest advice: don’t wait for permission to learn. Start building, and let the project teach you.
