About This Video

This is Pico—my tiny shoulder robot with a big personality. In this build I show how I made him blink, talk with buzzer sound effects, look around with a servo-driven head, and (optionally) use an ESP32-CAM to do some pretty incredible camera-based stuff. The whole point was to make a robot sidekick that can sit on my shoulder while I’m building—basically a really smart Lego set—and I think the result is pretty cool. I walk through the parts I used, how I tested things on a breadboard before committing to solder, and how the Arduino Nano Every acts as the brain for the random “alive” movements. I also show the full assembly: mounting the servo, routing wires into the head, getting the LED eye to sit right, and using a magnet mount to keep Pico on my shoulder. Fun detail: the “nervous shaking Pico” effect is literally the magnet messing with the servo gears—but I liked it so much I kept it. Everything is free and open source (3D files, wiring guide, and code) on my Thingiverse, so you can build your own from scratch and tag me when you do.
