In this video, I’m sharing a really personal milestone: my ADRIQ Gala speech from 2023, where I was honored with the Jeune Innovateur prize for one of my early projects, “Need a Hand With That.” It’s not a build tutorial or a demo—this one is about the journey behind the projects and what it feels like to have your work recognized in a room like that. I also included the structure of the moment with timecodes, because the speech moves between English, French, and then a bilingual ending. The core of what I say is simple: I wouldn’t be here without my family. I shout out the unwavering support I’ve had from my dad (from Nicaragua), my mom (Italian/Czech/Polish), and my stepfather (Ivorian). My family is a mix of cultures and backgrounds, and they worked hard to give their kids opportunities they never had—and I’m not going to waste that. For anyone building robots, making wearable tech, or just trying to push an idea into something real, this is my reminder that the “award moment” is really a reflection of years of support, effort, and choosing to keep going.
