What is up everybody, Manny here — and I honestly wish I didn’t have to make this one. In this video I’m standing right at the parking spot in Ostia (near Rome, right by the sea) where our car simply disappeared. We were on our way south towards Greece for a winter escape trip — Ferrara, Bologna, Florence, Perugia — and we stopped in Ostia for about two hours: beach for a bit, pizza in the village, then came back and the car was gone. We already went to the police to get the declarations done and checked with the agencies that tow wrongly parked cars — nothing. So yeah, it was most likely stolen. It was our white Volkswagen T4 (the good old T4, as you know) with plate BM 468 GO and a carrier on the back for our foldable bike and the kids’ trailer. The worst part: passports, my laptop, jackets, and basically all the climbing gear are gone, which makes filming and normal life pretty difficult right now (I’m literally filming on Mona’s smartphone). If you’re around the Rome area and you spot the van, any tip helps — and for now we’re just trying to keep a decent attitude and figure out whether we go back or somehow continue.
