About This Video

In this episode of my “Adam Ondra Strongest Moments” series, I react to and analyse what is basically the world’s hardest flash: Adam’s flash of Super Crackinette 9a+ (5.15a) in Saint Léger, France—first climbed by Alex Megos. I’ve been to Saint Léger myself, and what I love about this route is how modern and straightforward it is: short-ish, super power-focused, no “rest-kneebar-rest” trickery—just fingers strength divided by body weight, all the way into a brutally blank mono crux. I first look at other attempts (Seb Berthe and Jérôme Pouvreau) to show how the route is constructed and why that mono move is such a low-percentage nightmare when you’re forced to go even slightly dynamic. Then I explain the difference between onsight vs flash: flash means first try, but with as much beta as you can get without touching the holds—clips, sequences, drop knees, flags, all of it. With Adam, the big story is the “ultimate package”: insane reach, flexibility (long when he needs to be, short when he wants), elite execution, and visualization. You can literally see how a few centimeters turn a semi-dyno into a controlled, static lock-off—and that’s why this performance is so legendary.
