In this sit-down life update, I’m catching you up on everything that’s been going on behind the scenes—because I know I kind of just came back strong posting videos without really talking about it. First, I share some really happy news: I got engaged in February (and yes, if you noticed my ring, that’s why!). I’m so excited to be engaged to my fiancé, Mitchell, and I link the proposal video if you want to watch it. Then I talk through what life looked like as COVID-19 hit—coming back home to Washington State, work hours changing, and our whole routine shifting. My daughter’s preschool moved to learning from home, and we really leaned into teaching her and getting her ready for kindergarten, even with everything still up in the air. I also share how this season pushed me to pivot and get more serious about my business and content, including launching my website and establishing Made Simply Company as the name that really fits everything I want to create. I also touch on the Black Lives Matter movement and how it pushed us to get more educated and think about the world we’re raising our kids in. Through all of it, my goal stays the same: bring it back home, simplify where you can, and make your home feel like the safe haven it needs to be—especially when everything outside feels chaotic.
