About This Video

We got some “breaking hobby news” (as breaking as it gets in our weird little niche): Pro Acryl is jumping into the quick-paint pool with their new PRO ACRYL One Step line—aka their answer to Contrast/Speedpaint/Express/Quick Gen style paints. And yeah… my first reaction was basically, “Who even asked for this?” Not because I think it’ll be bad, but because the market is already stacked. In our store alone we’re sitting on multiple quick-paint lines, and most shops are already locked into Citadel as #1 and often Army Painter as #2. That said, we’re not here to dunk on Pro Acryl. We carry the range, we like it, and we sell it to people who genuinely love it—especially their washes and some of their unique shades. The real question is how they plan to compete: are they just leaning on brand loyalty and their convention/influencer push, or are they actually changing the formula “the Pro Acryl way”? I’m betting it’ll be a quality product, and I’m mostly excited to see if they fill color gaps with clever new tones. But impact-wise? It’s getting harder and harder to stand out when this is already the sixth (or seventh) quick-paint line trying to live on the same rack.
