In this video I’m playing Dead Space on the new ASUS ROG Swift OLED PG27AQWP-W — a Tandem True Black glossy OLED — because if you want to see what “true black” actually looks like in real gameplay, this is the game. I’m talking rooms where half the screen is basically just darkness, lights cutting in and out, and those shadowy corners that absolutely fall apart on a regular LCD where blacks turn into gray haze. What really hits on this monitor is the clarity that glossy OLED brings. I keep saying it in my gameplay videos: for a 1440p display, it looks insanely good. It’s not 4K-level detail, but the true black glossy finish adds a level of image clarity that makes everything feel cleaner and more “there.” And even though Dead Space is a darker game, the overall image stays bright enough to read the scene clearly — then the peak highlights pop hard when fire, sparks, and bright effects show up. Huge shoutout to ASUS for sending it out — I’ve been having a blast with it. This thing freaking slaps.
