In this review I’m going in on the ASUS ROG Swift PG27AQWP-W — the True Black Glossy Tandem OLED — and I’m telling you straight up: this is only the second piece of tech in my entire life that gives me that “they tried to make the absolute best product possible” feeling… the first being the Sony A95L. I’m nitpicky, I’m a perfectionist, and I can find a flaw in basically anything. This monitor is the new benchmark, and I genuinely think the entire monitor space should be trying to beat what ASUS pulled off here. I cover the build (the translucent back is jaw-dropping and easily the best-looking monitor I’ve ever seen), the silver bezels controversy (I don’t notice them at all in real gameplay), and the one real gripe I have: the stand. Then we get into what makes it special—True Black Glossy + Tandem OLED. That combo makes the image feel insanely “real,” with brighter peak highlights and a bigger color gamut than any modern WOLED I’ve used. On top of that, ASUS pushed it to 540Hz (not just 500), added DP 2.1 full 80Gbps, and even included a 720p 720Hz dual mode that’s a legit glimpse of the future. For competitive titles and “gamey” art styles, it can look shockingly close to a 4K 32-inch experience—while being way easier to run.
