Website: https://LongPlayVinyl.com It's been a long time since we posted a new video to the LongPlayVinyl channel. Hopefully this year we'll manage to make more content. In today's video we're talking about buying used setups without going broke. Today I am showcasing my secondary turntable setup. You might remember from the previous videos that I have a Technics SL1200 MK5 turn table (which I also bought used) but that's a different story. In this video you will see my secondary setup that includes: Bang & Olufsen Bogram RX turntable, Kenwood KR-2120 receiver as well as Paradigm Export Monitor speakers. I purchased the Bang and Olufsen record player for 15 Canadian dollars, the receiver was $10 (or $8 I forgot) and the speakers were $20. For a total of 45 cannadian dollars or about 35 american dollars. The point of this video is to not only show my thrift store haul but to also explain that you do not need to buy a cheap and low quality turntable for 100-200$ because you can find a much nicer set up for way less money. Be patient, go to thrift stores, go to garage sales, check out Craigslist, Kijiji, Marketplace, Offerup and whatever else is popular in your area and you'll often find great vintage audio equipment for cheap. Also make sure to let your friends know that you're looking for vinyl records, turntables and other used audio gear. A lot of people have this old "junk" piled up in their basements and they'd be happy to give it away. If you enjoyed this video please don't forget to LIKE and leave a comment. Also subscribe to the LongPlayVinyl channel as we'll be posting more videos about vinyl gear, record hauls, audio equipment and a lot more. About This Video

Hi everyone, Sasha here from LongPlayVinyl. In this video I walk through my secondary vinyl setup that I built for about $45 Canadian (roughly $30–35 USD), just by buying used and being patient. After moving to a bigger place I was able to run two systems—my main one with the Technics SL1200, and this thrift-store-built setup upstairs. The whole point is to show that if you’re getting into vinyl and want better sound, you don’t need to waste $100–$200 on those all-in-one “junk” packages when vintage gear can sound way better for less. I break down each piece: a Kenwood KR-2120 receiver I grabbed for about $10 (it just needed the pots cleaned with Deoxit), a Bang & Olufsen Beogram RX turntable for $15 that came with two MMC 4 cartridges (which can sell for crazy money online), and a pair of Paradigm Export Monitor speakers that I effectively got for about $20 after flipping a second set. I also share where to hunt—thrift stores, garage sales, Craigslist, Marketplace, Kijiji, OfferUp—and why it pays to avoid overpriced shops and let friends know you’re looking. If you stay proactive, you can put together a legit setup for next to nothing.
