In today's episode Sasha from LongPlayVinyl is exploring the vinyl fair in Kyiv, Ukraine. Just like in most countries, Ukraine is seeing a huge vinyl resurgence. Local artists are getting their music pressed on was (usually in Germany) and the demand for the old original pressings is growing as well. If you are ever in Ukraine, I highly suggest checking out this fair as it happens monthly. You can find awesome Ukrainian music, soviet music as well as lots of old and new pressings of western artists and even bootleg records of such classic as The Beatles, Led Zep, Pink Floyd and many others. About This Video

I’m Sasha from LongPlayVinyl, and in this episode I’m finally checking out the Kyiv Vinyl Fair in Ukraine. I actually missed Record Store Day this year because I was in a country that doesn’t run an official RSD event, so this monthly fair ended up being my “Record Store Day” workaround. Ukraine’s in the middle of a real vinyl resurgence right now—local artists are getting records pressed (often in Germany), and the demand for old original pressings is growing right alongside it. I spent a little over an hour digging and walked out with just two records—mostly because I’ve got basically zero room left in my luggage for the flight back to Canada. I grabbed a Tom Waits “Swordfishtrombones” bootleg pressed by Antrop (and if you’re into that stuff, I’ve got an older video where I show more Antrop bootlegs). The other pickup was a brand-new record from Dead Boys Girlfriend, a Ukrainian electronic band. Both were about $5 each, and if you’re ever in Ukraine, I genuinely recommend timing your trip around this fair—there’s Ukrainian music, Soviet records, western pressings, and even bootlegs of classics like The Beatles, Led Zep, and Pink Floyd.
