In this video I unbox a bunch of Qudelix stuff, with the main star being the Qudelix T71—their most expensive flagship DAC/amp to date at $229. I’ll be real: I’ve never had gear this expensive, so take my first impressions with a grain of salt. I go through the packaging, check out the included foam protection, and I also look at the T71 magnet case they sent (hard, clear, and it shouldn’t yellow over time—pros and cons). Then I power the T71 on, run into a firmware update, and start poking around the on-device menus. Feature-wise, the T71 is filled to the brim. The big headline is built-in 7.1 surround sound (not something I’d use all the time, but it’s there if you want to mess with it). I also dig into the deeper enthusiast stuff: hybrid power options, temperature/current/voltage readouts, profiles, and filter/oversampling-type settings like linear phase. You don’t even need the app to tweak some of this, which is wild. I also talk about who this is for: not your everyday guy, more for hardcore enthusiasts and tinkerers like me. I’m happy with what Qudelix sent, but first impressions is a mess—I need more time using it before I can say anything objective about value or performance.
