About This Video

In this “What Are We Wearing” tech edition at JMR Quarry, I’m breaking down exactly what my buddy and I are geared up with for a fun tech dive. We’re planning to drop to about 90–91 feet, spend roughly an hour down there, and then work our way up with a little deco before we call it a day. I walk you through my full setup and why I chose it for this dive—especially since I’m testing some newer pieces. The big focus for me is the brand new Dive Rite 905 drysuit. I’ve only got a few dives on it so far, and this is another chance to see how it performs with thinner undergarments. I’m running a thin Scuba Force fleece layer, but I’m also “rocking” the Mares XR heated vest and heated pants to stay comfortable in that winter quarry water (we’re around the 50s, and since it’s an aerated quarry there’s no thermocline). I also cover my sidemount setup, safety kit (DSMB plus an emergency DSMB), and the lights I’m using—including an OrcaTorch D570 I’m testing that has a green laser. Then I hand it over to Dan so you can compare his drysuit, sidemount, regs, lights, and Shearwater computers to my kit.
