What’s up, guys—Brian here from Lake Hickory Scuba & Marina. In this video I’m taking you back down to Cozumel for part seven of our series where we do a fun “can you find the species” challenge during the dive. The site is San Clemente, and it’s one of those easy, shallow reef dives that’s open to pretty much everybody—recreational, technical, experienced, or brand new. It’s got some really pretty coral structure, plenty of marine life, and it’s just an all-around relaxing dive. Before we splash, I give you the three things to look for throughout the dive: a honeycomb cowfish, a tube worm, and a sea anemone. The whole point is to get you paying attention to the reef and spotting the little details, not just swimming past everything. If you want to get better at that, I also recommend checking out the SSI Ecology programs—they’re easy specialties, they count toward Master Diver, and they’ll make you a more educated diver because you’ll start recognizing species faster.
