About This Video

What’s up, guys—Brian from Lake Hickory Scuba & Marina. In this video I’m taking you along on dive three of our Cozumel series, and we’re dropping in on Colombia Reef. This site sits between Colombia Deep and Colombia Shallows, and it’s known for those tall coral structures and multiple swim-throughs that make the whole dive feel like an underwater obstacle course—in the best way possible. I also call this one more of an advanced dive, not really beginner level, and that’s for a couple reasons: the depths you’re going to reach, the number of swim-throughs, and even the more moderate current that can be there. Because of that, you’ve got to be solid on gas management. I’d suggest being Advanced certified—or even having a Deep Diver certification—before you go hit this site, or at least go with a guide who’s dove it before. While you’re watching, I want you to play along and see if you can spot the three species I put up on screen: dog snapper, three spot damselfish, and the ocean triggerfish.
