In part five of my personal 2026 rig run down, I’m laying out every exposure suit and thermal piece I actually use throughout the year—everything from simple neoprene layers to multiple drysuits, plus the undergarments and accessories that make the system work. I walk you through what each item is, how I run it, and more importantly, what I use it for in the real world—pool work, warm-water trips, cold-water diving, tech dives, and the commercial/public safety stuff where durability matters. On the wetsuit/neoprene side, I cover my Ultra Skin pieces (shorts, long sleeve top, and sleeveless hooded vest) and why I like them for tropical or layering. I also show my “no frills” 3mm pool suit I burn through because chlorine eats neoprene, and my 5mm Mares Graphflex that I’ll push down into the mid-50s by pairing it with the hooded vest. Then I get into my four drysuits and why I rotate them year-round: my OS Systems DSR-T workhorse, my favorite neoprene drysuit style (with the one big downside), a Scuba Force Expedition suit I now keep for teaching because the zipper leaks, and my newer Dive Rite 905 with the things I love—and the two things I’m not sold on yet (knee pad material and the side-inflate valve).
