Hey guys—today I’m sharing a bunch of fun, quick, inexpensive DIYs using dollar store placemats (mine are from Dollar Tree, Family Dollar, and even Dollar General). I’m basically shopping my own craft stash and turning these placemats into decor that looks way more high-end than it has any right to. If you’ve ever used scrapbook paper for a project, you can do the same exact thing with placemats—and sometimes you get more for your money. I walk you through a few different ideas: adding placemats to thrifted/yard sale frames (I literally bought a box of frames for under a dollar), making a cute kitchen recipe holder insert, and even turning a sign into a tray-style piece. I’ll show you what worked, what didn’t (my X-acto knife moment was not it), and how I fixed my wonky cuts with sisal rope around the edges. I also share my go-to adhesive tip: I love an Elmer’s glue stick for placemats because it holds—trust me, I have older placemat crafts that still look great. To finish things off, I add simple details like florals and twine bows to make everything feel more intentional. These are easy projects you can knock out fast, and they’re perfect for seasonal decor, tear trays, shelves, and little home refresh spots.
