And for me, that “extra” was adding a fireplace TV stand that totally changed the whole vibe of the room and made it feel even cozier. I walk you through putting together the Costway fireplace TV stand (with my usual requirements: a drink, a snack, and an animal supervising). The build honestly went super fast because the instructions are thorough, and the piece felt sturdy even early on—like, I literally sat on the base while I was building it. I did make a couple mistakes (I put the sides on backwards and almost put the fireplace insert in upside down), but even with tearing it apart and fixing it, it was still simple. After that, I decorate the stand and the rest of my living room with Christmas pillows, garland, ornaments, and some sentimental pieces—because my tree is a full-on memory tree with years of ornaments and homemade stuff. I also share my realistic take: nothing has to match, and a cozy, lived-in living room is still a beautiful one.
