We’re hanging out at night in my bathroom (which feels so weird because I haven’t started a vlog like this in a while), and I’m sharing my 9 months postpartum update with Harper—plus what it’s been like being home alone with all four kids while Joe is on a short work trip. The big win right now is sleep: Harper is finally giving me a stretch in her crib, and I’m starting to feel like I have my nights back. That alone has done wonders for my soul, because I can actually unwind, do a little “get unready with me,” and just breathe for a minute. Physically, I’m feeling pretty good and I’m basically back to my pre-baby weight, but I’m at the point where I want to tone up and build real movement back into my routine. I’m still nursing, still haven’t gotten my cycle back, and I’m continuing to track with Marquette NFP using my Clearblue monitor. But the biggest part of this update is mental health: postpartum rage and feeling like my nervous system is just not regulated. I’m praying through it, taking it to confession, and being honest that this can be a real postpartum struggle—especially with the noise, the crying, and the constant stimulus. I also share what’s helping right now: better sleep, taking care of my gut health, and leaning into faith and simple routines that support me as a Catholic homeschool mom.
