This thing hasn’t always been sunshine and rainbows and unicorns. In this video I’m walking through the real struggles I’ve had with the Yarbo lawn mower during the first half of mowing season—aka the “learning experiences”… and by learning experiences, I mean failures. The big one: it literally ran over a small tree/bush and chopped a branch right to the ground. My wife made me rename it “the Onceler” (yep, go look up The Lorax), and while that was definitely a problem, I was also kind of impressed it had the power to do it. I also talk about it getting stuck—sometimes 100% my fault because I was pushing it into muddy areas right after rain. But I had at least one case that wasn’t on me: it went way back on our property, lost its 4G connection while we were on vacation, sat disconnected until the battery died, and I had to haul it back up to the house on a wheelbarrow. Finally, I cover the broken antenna issue: I’ve lost three or four, sometimes Yarbo’s fault, sometimes mine (including when I was driving it). My main takeaways are simple: add no-go zones around obstacles, don’t send it into mud, and keep a few cheap spare antennas on hand.
