I’m installing the Refoss EM16 Pro, and once the hard part is over, the fun part starts: the data about our electricity. In this video I walk through the Refoss app (the smart energy monitor section) and show you live, real-time power coming into the house on each leg (A1 and B1), plus how each clamp/CT channel reports power, voltage, and current. I also show a super practical fix you’ll run into during installs—when a clamp reads negative because it’s flipped relative to the phase. In the app, I just change the circuit factor (like setting C5 to -1), hit save, and it immediately corrects. From there I show how I organize everything by labeling and grouping channels so the app layout actually makes sense day-to-day. I merge A1 and B1 into “full house power,” and then I build out totals for sub-panels and areas like master bed/bath/hallway, basement bathroom, and individual breakers. The best part is how fast it updates—you can literally walk around turning things on and off and instantly see what it does to your usage. It’s Wi‑Fi (no hub), competitively priced, and it can monitor energy both ways, so if you’ve got solar you can track production too.
