In this video I paint Ninetales in watercolour, and I keep it intentionally simple: just 4–5 colours and a few easy layers to build the form. I walk through the full process in a narrated way, so you can follow along from the first light shapes all the way to the final details. The goal here isn’t to overcomplicate it—it’s to show how far you can get with a limited palette and some patient layering. I focus on breaking Ninetales down into manageable sections, keeping the early washes light, and then gradually pushing the contrast where it matters. By working in simple layers, you can keep the painting clean and still get that soft, glowy look watercolour does so well.
