In this video I’m doing a simple tour through a full year of my watercolor paintings from 2019 to 2020. It’s basically a big look back at what I finished over that stretch—different subjects, different approaches, and a bunch of pieces that show where my head was at as I kept painting and learning. If you’ve ever wondered what a year of consistent watercolor practice can look like, this is that in one place. The main takeaway here is seeing the variety that can come out of sticking with the medium: some paintings are more polished, some are looser, and some are just me experimenting and trying things. I like sharing finished work because it’s a good reminder that progress isn’t one straight line—you get better by doing a lot of paintings, not by waiting for the “perfect” one.
