This year Apple gave us three vibrant iPhone 17 Pro/Pro Max colours—cosmic orange, silver, and deep blue—and I know how easy it is to order one online and then realise the colour looks nothing like what you expected. A lot of images you see are renders, not real-life shots, so in this video I put all three colours through the kind of lighting you actually live in: daylight, indoor cool/white LED (think Apple Store), warm cozy evening lighting, and low-light night/street lighting. In daylight, deep blue feels the most premium and professional—like a midnight navy suit—while cosmic orange is bold, vibrant, and really stands out. Silver is the clean, classic, “safe” Apple look. Under indoor white LEDs, deep blue stays super consistent, cosmic orange shifts into a bricky copper tone that I surprisingly loved, and silver goes more icy/minimal (but can feel a bit dull). In warm cozy lighting, cosmic orange absolutely shines with a rich burnt-amber vibe that fits my aesthetics, while deep blue softens closer to black and silver still holds up but feels cooler. At night, silver reflects light nicely and actually became my favourite in that scenario. My overall verdict: deep blue for premium, cosmic orange for bold/creative, and silver for timeless—and personally, I’d pick silver long-term.
