About This Video

In this video I’m sharing my honest experience with the ASUS ROG XG32UCWG OLED gaming monitor—because something happened within the first week that genuinely caught me off guard. After four weeks of debating OLED vs matte and watching countless videos and blogs, this was the one monitor that stood out for my PS5 setup. The unboxing and first impressions were honestly phenomenal: premium packaging, a glossy true-black OLED look, and that “ultimate monitor” feeling the moment it came out of the box. But then one morning I turned it on and immediately noticed a weird grey shade on the logo, and when the UI loaded I realised it wasn’t normal at all. I was seeing severe image retention—menus behind menus—old PlayStation screens stuck in the background, faded colours, and an overall washed-out experience. I did the full due diligence: pixel cleaning, leaving it off overnight, following ASUS guidance and what people recommended on Reddit, and nothing improved. For a premium monitor at around £1,000, having this happen in week one was extremely upsetting, so I returned it—though I’ll be honest, I still miss what ASUS was trying to deliver here.
